The Lone Star state continues to attract business expansions, as Governor Greg Abbott recently announced that Lefko USA Inc. will be opening their first U.S.-based manufacturing facility in New Braunfels, Texas. Lefko, a subsidiary of Centrik Capital, Inc., is a firm that specializes in the production of medium to large plastic parts through custom blow molding, offering products for various sectors, including recreation, powersports, industrial, and trucking. According to a press release from the Office of the Texas Governor, the plant is expected to generate 149 new jobs and represent more than $15 million in capital investment.
The Texas Enterprise Fund (TEF) is backing this initiative with a grant of $968,500 to Lefko. Additionally, the company will receive a $19,000 Veteran Created Job Bonus as part of the state's incentives to bolster job creation. According to the Office of the Texas Governor, "Texas manufacturers keep industries moving forward," Governor Abbott stated, "This $15 million investment by Lefko to establish their first U.S.-based advanced manufacturing facility in New Braunfels will create good-paying jobs for hardworking Texans." He cited Texas' skilled workforce, strategic location, and favorable business climate as pivotal factors in upholding the state's manufacturing prestige.
Lefko's CEO, Eric Blondeau, expressed confidence in the choice of Texas for their expansion, crediting the state's commitment to advanced manufacturing and central location as competitive advantages for serving both domestic and international markets. "The collaboration with New Braunfels city leaders and the State of Texas made the difference in our final choice," Blondeau said in the governor's press release, signaling a positive outlook for the company's future in the region.
Local officials have welcomed the development with open arms, praising the potential economic impact and job creation. "The addition of Lefko’s advanced plastics manufacturing operations strengthens the region’s industrial base, diversifies our local economy, and reinforces Texas’s reputation as the nation’s best state for business," Senator Donna Campbell mentioned in her support for the decision, according to the Office of the Texas Governor announcement. Meanwhile, New Braunfels Mayor Neal Linnartz focused on the immediate effects on his community, "Their investment here not only speaks volumes about the competitiveness of our community, but more importantly, it means real jobs and new opportunities for New Braunfels families." The TEF grant awarded to Lefko is performance-based, meant to assist business relocation or expansion projects in Texas that compete with other out-of-state locations.
