Aspiring young thespians in the Lewisville area have an exciting opportunity to hone their craft with the announcement of the Young Artist Training Program (YATP) hosting a Community Musical Theatre Workshop set for Saturday, Oct. 4 at 1:30 p.m., at the Lewisville Grand Theater. The City of Lewisville reports that the workshop will cover a range of theatrical skills, including vocal techniques, movement, and acting, all under the guidance of the experienced YATP faculty and current students.
Your kids, if they lie in the age bracket of grades 4 through 10, are invited to join this creative sojourn for a fee of $25, though if financials are proving to be a bind, Our Productions Theatre Co. has signaled an openness to providing waivers—interested parties should direct their request via email to [email protected], as per the detailed event information. With the community’s cultural vibrancy in mind, several notable entities, such as the City of Lewisville, Town of Flower Mound, Fichtenbaum Charitable Trust, and the Texas Commission on the Arts, have extended their patronage to make these artistic endeavors feasible.
The workshop takes place amidst the Grand's embrace—the cultural heart of Lewisville; this facility, noted for a rich palette of arts offerings ranging from concerts to galleries to performance spaces, has become a beacon for artistic endeavors in the region. It comes as no surprise then that the Our Productions Theatre Company is a beneficiary of a cultural grant from the City of Lewisville, registering it among ten local entities invested in the flourishing of fine arts within the community.
