Lewisville's Neighborhood Services is opening its doors to residents interested in enhancing their homes and communities through various grant opportunities. According to a news release published by the City of Lewisville, a free workshop is scheduled for Tuesday, November 11, at 6:30 p.m. at the Lewisville Public Library, located at 1197 W. Main Street. Those looking to attend should mark their calendars to register by Nov. 9.
Funded by the City of Lewisville, the workshop is designed to educate homeowners about available grants, such as the Property Enhancement Program, Love Your Block, and Neighborhood Enhancement Program. Having registered, they will receive step-by-step guidance on the application process while learning about countywide resources lying in wait for the taking. The Property Enhancement Program offers a financial grant-rebate program to assist residents with exterior home repairs, promising up to a 50 percent matching grant-rebate, capped at a certain dollar amount.
Aiming to foster community spirit, the Love Your Block initiative provides a $500 reimbursable mini-grant for local projects, welcomes applications year-round, and can be directed towards activities like neighborhood parties, lot clean-ups, or installations in shared spaces. Meanwhile, larger-scale ambitions may find a partner in the Neighborhood Enhancement Program, which offers matching grants as high as $12,500 for groups seeking to beautify their corners of Lewisville, whether by enhancing parks or setting up emergency response teams.
