A fatal collision occurred yesterday morning in Lorain County, as reported by the Ohio State Highway Patrol, where a two-vehicle crash resulted in the death of a 56-year-old woman and serious injuries to a 59-year-old man.
The incident took place at around 6:41 a.m. on Foster Road in Penfield Township, where according to the statements from Cleveland19, a Chevrolet Silverado, driven south by a LaGrange resident, collided with a westbound Honda HR-V after failing to observe a stop sign at the State Route 18 intersection, the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s troopers said the Silverado's driver, a 59-year-old male, was not wearing his seatbelt and sustained serious injuries hence, he was airlifted to MetroHealth Medical Center.
The driver of the Honda, identified by the authorities as Wendy Kobyluck from Orville, was pronounced dead at the scene, despite being restrained by her seatbelt, as reported by FOX8 News. In assisting the operations, the Ohio State Highway Patrol was joined by the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office, Wellington Fire Department, South Lorain County Ambulance, alongside Vaughn’s Towing and DnA Towing, as detailed by WKYC Studios.
The crash is still under ongoing scrutiny by the authorities to determine the exact causality of the fatal encounter, neither drugs nor alcohol usage has been speculated as a contributing factor at this juncture.
