Authorities in Iredell County have made a sizeable drug bust, seizing over 80 pounds of marijuana, firearms, and a significant sum of cash, as reported by Queen City News, the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office. The investigation, sparked by an anonymous tip concerning suspected drug activity, focused on a property on Delight Loop in Statesville, where narcotics detectives had been conducting surveillance.

During the operation on October 16, according to WBTV, two vehicles, which were later found to contain more than 50 pounds of marijuana and a large cache of cash, had delivered large packages to the residence. The vehicles' occupants, Jiemi Lin and Hanmei Lin, were detained after leaving the property. Upon searching the home, detectives reported the discovery of an additional 34 pounds of marijuana along with four guns and more cash.

The search and arrests didn't stop with the Lin family. Tonia Carney, who was found at the home, was arrested at the scene, and soon after, two more individuals, Frederick Carney and Trequan Dulin, with ties to the drug operation, were located and arrested. As noted by WSOC-TV, Sheriff Darren E. Campbell highlighted the bust as "another example of how proactive investigation and teamwork lead to significant drug seizures and safer communities."

With the investigation ongoing, the overall haul from the bust exceeded 84 pounds of marijuana and included several firearms, a large sum of money, and multiple vehicles. The Iredell County Sheriff's Office remains active on the case, continuing to process evidence and work with state and federal partners to understand the full scope of the narcotics operation.
