A 32-year-old man was arrested on Sunday at a home on Rivard Avenue in Warren during a joint operation involving the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team, the Warren Police Department, and the FBI. Authorities believe he is connected to the attempted murder of Macomb Township gas station owner Eddie Jawad, according to ClickOnDetroit. The investigation is ongoing.
Detectives used security footage and other evidence to identify a suspect in the shooting of Jawad in Macomb Township last Tuesday. The video shows the gunman firing at Jawad’s SUV and then leaving the area. Neighbor John Cholette, who recorded part of the incident, said, "We heard the gunshots and saw him jump the wall, go to his car," describing the shooter’s movements, as reported by FOX 2 Detroit.
Details about the motive remain unclear, but the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office confirmed on social media that a suspect has been arrested in the attempted murder case. In a Facebook post, the office stated, “Detectives have been working around the clock, following leads and reviewing evidence,” as mentioned by FOX 2 Detroit.
