
On Wednesday, the Chicago Police Department announced the arrest of 26-year-old Anthony Vasquez-Guedez on charges related to an armed robbery and aggravated battery that left a 48-year-old man with serious injuries. The incident, which occurred last month, took place in the 4800 block of S. Ashland Ave., according to information released by the department. Vasquez-Guedez, from the 7300 block of S. Carpenter St., is facing a felony count each for armed robbery with a dangerous weapon, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, and aggravated battery in a public place.
Authorities disclosed that the offender was apprehended on October 20, in the 4700 block of S. Ashland Ave. He is accused of having stabbed and robbed the victim on September 20, at around 10:50 a.m. The Chicago Police Department said that Vasquez-Guedez was identified as the assailant who, in broad daylight, carried out to boldly committed the violent crime in a public space. Following his arrest, he was placed into custody and has since been charged accordingly. The bond court hearing has been scheduled for the same day as the public release of his charges, at 2600 S. California.
