Officials reported, as per WPXI report, that the man was critically injured upon falling from the upper deck of the arena at approximately 7:15 p.m. last night.
The incident happened shortly into the game, with Allegheny County dispatchers confirming that emergency services were dispatched to the scene. The individual was apparently trying to maneuver down to a lower row when he tripped, continued to tragically fall onto an occupied suite below, before tumbling further into the 100 level, according to eyewitness accounts. Medics on-site swiftly responded and transported him to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Those who bore witness to the distressing event commented on the scene, with Todd Derr, a witness, telling WTAE, "He was like, tettering a little bit, and then he fell forward. Somehow, he just kept sailing over the seats, and I think his head hit the plexiglass, or safety glass, and shattered it." Despite the chaotic aftermath, the game proceeded without interruption, and many attendees were reportedly oblivious to the event as it unfolded.
