According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the man was on the sidewalk at about 2:30 a.m. in the 600 block of West 59th Street after leaving a social gathering when he heard gunshots and was struck in the left arm and chest.
He had been attending a gathering prior to the shooting, feeling pain upon hearing gunshots. The Chicago Fire Department treated him on the scene before rushing him to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition, according to police. No suspects have been apprehended as the investigation proceeds.
