Early this morning, a man was fatally shot at a north Houston apartment complex, prompting a police search for the suspect. The incident occurred at 201 Plaza Verde Drive in the Greenspoint area, according to Click2Houston.
Houston police responded to reports of gunfire around 12:30 a.m. and found the victim near the apartment’s leasing office with a gunshot wound. Officers attempted lifesaving measures before EMS transported the man to a trauma center, where he was pronounced dead. A weapon was recovered at the scene, but authorities have not confirmed whether it belonged to the victim or the suspect, FOX 26 Houston reported.
Lieutenant A. Ali of the Houston Police Department stated that the shooting may have stemmed from a disturbance inside one of the apartments. Police are reviewing security footage from the complex as the suspect fled the scene on foot.
No additional victims were found. The identity of the deceased has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
