Early morning yesterday, Seattle police responded to a shooting in North Seattle that injured a 41-year-old man. According to the Seattle Police Department Blotter, the incident occurred near North 86th Street and Fremont Avenue North.

Officers arrived around 1:30 a.m. after reports of a shooting and found the victim with two gunshot wounds to his back. Seattle Fire Department personnel transported him to Harborview Medical Center, where he was listed in serious but non-life-threatening condition.

Police said the victim had been sleeping in his van when several men demanded that he open the doors. After hearing breaking glass, he realized he had been shot and drove a short distance away to wait for help. The suspects fled the scene and have not been located.
