A man was killed in a hit-and-run crash early Monday morning on Detroit’s west side. The incident happened around 4:30 a.m. at the intersection of Joy Road and Central Street, police said, according to ClickOnDetroit.
The driver involved in the fatal crash remains at large as Detroit Police's Fatal Squad continues the search. WXYZ stated that the vehicle "fled the scene after the crash," leaving investigators working to identify the suspect.
The crash is among several recent hit-and-run incidents in Metro Detroit. In another case, one person was killed and three others were injured in a three-vehicle crash near Gratiot Avenue and McNichols Road. Other recent incidents involved a woman and two motorcyclists who were hit by drivers who fled but were later charged. Police are investigating and ask for the public’s help. "Anyone with information about the crash or the suspect driver should call the Detroit Police Department's Fatal Squad at (313) 596-2260 or Crime Stoppers of Michigan at 1-800-SPEAK-UP," officials said, as per The Detroit News.
