In a brief report released by the Long Beach Police Department, an incident occurring in the early hours of October 27th was detailed, in which a man inadvertently shot himself. According to the official LBPD blotter, at approximately 12:32 a.m., local officers were called to the hospital to investigate a shooting victim, arriving to find a male with injuries to his lower body that were not life-threatening.
The LBPD indicated the man's wounds seemed to be the result of an accidental discharge of his firearm, and although the victim was questioned, he withheld specific details about the event and the precise location of where it transpired, creating a narrative detachment between the victim's admission and the obscured truth of the shooting's context.
Officers, left with no crime scene to scrutinize or additional evidence to gather, stated that the investigation would be ongoing.
