Mankato residents should prepare for traffic adjustments as the City tackles urgent infrastructural repairs. According to a social media post from the City of Mankato, Minnesota Government, emergency water valve repair will commence on the westbound lane of Stadium Road at James Avenue beginning Thursday, Oct. 23, starting approximately at 8 a.m.
Traffic will still flow in both directions, but the usual westbound lane will be shut down, compelling vehicles to share the eastbound lane. The alteration is straightforward for those traveling down the hill on Stadium Road; they can proceed straight, but will not have the option to turn right onto James Avenue.
Moreover, city buses are adapting to this disruption. Routes 10 and 11 are set for detours to Stoltzman Road. "Fixed bus routes 10 and 11 will be detouring to Stoltzman Road," the city's post specified. To accommodate public transit users, temporary bus stops are established at Fairfield Avenue and Stoltzman Road, while the existing bus stop at James Avenue and Stadium Road remains operational.
The community looks forward to resuming their regular routines, with expectations set on the lane's reopening later in the day, dependent on the weather's cooperation. Mankato's residents and visitors alike must navigate these slight yet necessary disturbances as the city works to maintain its vital services and infrastructure.
