A Mount Pleasant robbery suspect was apprehended by the Metropolitan Police Department after an incident in the early morning hours of Wednesday. According to MPD's report, a dispute that started within the confines of a private residence escalated, leading to a robbery and a dramatic chase.
The incident unfolded at around 4:29 a.m. on the 3400 block of Brown Street, Northwest. The victim, whose name has not been released for safety and privacy concerns, had arranged to meet with the suspect after initially connecting through a dating app. Upon meeting inside the suspect's home, the situation deteriorated, resulting in the suspect forcibly taking the victim's belongings and chasing the victim from the premises.
In a swift response, Third District officers immediately engaged with the situation upon their arrival at the scene. The suspect was still present and was subsequently taken into custody by the responding officers. The individual apprehended, identified as 32-year-old Aaron Ashe Jr. of Northwest, DC, has been charged with Robbery (Snatch).
