As evening weariness sets in, the rain isn't slated to let up, with showers primarily before midnight and an 80% chance of precipitation into the night. The low will be around 48 degrees, and east winds will blow at 5 to 10 mph, carrying further rain amounts between a quarter and half an inch, the National Weather Service forecasts.
Wednesday offers a brief respite, boasting a reduced 20 percent chance of showers before 1 pm. Despite the likelihood, the clouds will remain, with highs inching up near 56 degrees and east winds maintaining a steady draft at 5 to 10 mph. By Wednesday night, the dance between showers and thunderstorms picks back up after 1 am with a 50% chance of precipitation.
Moving into Thursday, Minneapolis has a continued drizzle with a 30 percent chance of showers before 1 pm. However, the sun is expected to break through the clouds later that day, with the temperatures climbing to a more comfortable 71 degrees. Gusts might reach as high as 25 mph in a south southeast wind blowing at 10 to 15 mph. Looking toward the weekend, the weather pattern becomes less predictable, sunny patches contrasting with a continued risk of showers, particularly on Friday and into Friday night, which will see temperatures dipping to around 51 degrees.
Saturday and Sunday's weather outlook appears more promising for those wishing to enjoy the outdoors, with mostly sunny skies and highs of 62 and 58 degrees, respectively. The winds will shift from west to west northwest but remain gentle at 5 to 10 mph, helping to sustain clear conditions into Sunday night. The new week will begin on a high note, literally, with Monday set to be sunny and warming up to around 65 degrees, as per NWS predictions.
