
The Clay County Sheriff's Office in Florida has announced that Lameeya Burdunice, the 15-year-old who had been reported as a runaway juvenile, was found and is set to return home. Lameeya was reported missing after last being seen on Charles Pinckney Street in Orange Park at 8:30 PM yesterday. She was wearing a gray sweatsuit with a black bonnet at the time of her disappearance, described as 5'1", weighing 140 pounds and notable for her red dyed hair.
The call for public assistance was sent out through the Sheriff's Office's social media channels, urging anyone with information on Lameeya's whereabouts to come forward; the specifics of her description were widely shared in hopes someone might recognize her or the iPad she was believed to have been carrying. The Sheriff's Office, in their update, did not disclose the circumstances surrounding how or where Lameeya was located, but the message, delivered via Facebook, was succinct: "UPDATE Lameeya has been located and will be returning home!"
The Sheriff's Office highlighted the part that tips through the SaferWatch app may have played, although specific acknowledgments about how these tips helped resolve the case were not disclosed the office maintained a straightforward tone acknowledging the positive outcome.
