
A motorcyclist lost their life early yesterday in a crash on State Route 315 in north Columbus, as reported by local authorities. The incident occurred just past midnight at the intersection of State Route 315 and West North Broadway. The vehicle reportedly became destabilized, resulting in the rider being thrown from the motorcycle, according to The Columbus Dispatch.
The victim was immediately rushed to OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital and was pronounced dead later that day at 12:06 p.m. The Columbus police Accident Investigation Unit has begun to thoroughly investigate the crash, earnestly working to determine what caused the destabilization of the motorcycle, WBNS reported.
In a separate incident on the previous evening, two individuals were fatally injured in a collision in South Hilliard. The crash, involving a vehicle and a motorcycle, took place at the juncture of Hilliard Rome Road and Roberts Road around 7 p.m., per local police. One victim was quickly transported to Grant Medical Center and was pronounced dead at 7:17 p.m. The second victim was declared deceased at the scene at 7:33 p.m.
Details about the second victim's connection to the accident and the identities of those involved have not been released at this time. The roads at the intersection where the crash occurred were immediately closed to traffic as the Accident Investigation Unit was called to examine and methodically piece together the events leading to the tragedy, according to ABC6.
