The city of Mount Dora has found itself grappling with widespread water-related complications, issuing a citywide precautionary boil water notice. This follows a substantial water line break, ushered in by major flooding. Residents have been advised to boil water intended for consumption until further notice.
According to WFTV, the break has not only been located but isolated as well, a critical first step in the process to begin repairs that are evidently underway. The notice, while precautionary, carries a weight of urgency, intended to ensure residents take necessary measures to avoid consuming potentially unsafe water.
Mount Dora officials have also provided a list of closures and impacts due to the flooding: Wolf Branch Road at Timberlake Drive is washed out and currently impassable. Significant closures also include Donnelly Street in sections across Limit Ave and South of US 441, and Old Eustis Road, among others, as detailed by ClickOrlando.
Residents are being encouraged to keep abreast of updates and additional information by visiting the official City of Mount Dora website or by following their social media accounts.
