The Milford Police Department has reported the arrest of a suspect who was the focal point of a multi-agency manhunt. Alexis Sierra, aged 23, from Woonsocket, Rhode Island, was apprehended on Tuesday after evading law enforcement on several occasions, sparking high-speed pursuits across different jurisdictions. The chase that initially began in Milford, Massachusetts, spanned weeks and involved various police departments.

According to a social media post by the Milford Police Department, the ordeal began on Monday, September 22, when threats were made, and Sierra was observed threatening violence with a firearm. Detectives saw a vehicle, a gray 2023 Mercedes-Benz, fleeing the scene but discontinued the pursuit due to public safety concerns after the suspect began driving erratically.

With an arrest warrant issued on September 25 for charges that included Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, Sierra's run from law enforcement continued. Authorities believed Sierra was involved in several more high-speed pursuits with police departments from Bellingham, Woonsocket, Providence, and even state police from both Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

Chief Robert Tusino of the Milford Police Department expressed gratitude for the successful capture of Sierra. "This arrest is a testament to the outstanding collaboration among local and state agencies across Massachusetts and Rhode Island," said Tusino. He assured that the apprehension was conducted without further harm to the public, aiming to highlight the safe conclusion of their efforts to locate and apprehend the suspect. Sierra, after being caught by the East Providence Police Department, has now been charged with a litany of crimes including negligent operation of a motor vehicle, failure to stop for police, and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
