The N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles is looking for a contractor to run the license plate agency in Monroe. The current contract at 622 W. Roosevelt Blvd., Bundy’s Square, is set to wrap up by April 14, 2026, and the NCDMV is looking to potentially bring in new management upon its expiration. Potential newcomers have only until October 29 to make their bid with a completed application for consideration, according to an official announcement by NCDMV.
Applications are accepted whenever there is a need, either at the end of a contract or when additional services are required by a county. The current agency in Monroe, operated by Crystal Jordan since 2009 and owned by Jordan Business Services, Inc. since 2016, may be replaced if a qualified bidder applies. Forms MVR-93A, MVR-93B, and MVR-93M are available on the Connect NCDOT website. Applications must be submitted by email to [email protected]; mailed applications will not be accepted.
License plate agencies under the NCDMV are operated by either private businesses or local governments and offer services such as vehicle registration, title transactions, license plate renewals, replacement tags, and duplicate registrations. There are 132 such agencies across North Carolina, and the position to manage the Monroe location is currently open for qualified applicants.
