The Jacob Javits Convention Center in Manhattan has transformed into a mecca for pop culture enthusiasts as New York Comic Con 2025 has launched into full swing, bringing a vibrant mix of cosplayers, stars, and panels that will run until Sunday. According to ABC7NY, those roaming the city streets can expect to encounter an array of characters from elves to Darth Vaders, contributing to the colorful chaos that the convention is known for.
Despite Thursday's tickets still being up for grabs earlier today where fans marked the occasion as family day—overflowing enthusiasm ensured that Friday through Sunday tickets vanished quicker than a superhero in a time of crisis, as reported by CBS News. The scene is an eclectic showcase of costumes and zeal for all things genre, from sci-fi to fantasy to the eeriness of horror, the event embodies the spirit of diverse fanbases uniting for four days of immersive experiences.
While the Javits Center serves as the central hub for Comic Con excitement, events and parties spill into the city, extending the vibe beyond the venue. An exemplary highlight is the immersive exhibit dedicated to the anime One Piece at Mercer Labs, a high-tech installation of 11 rooms that promises to leave fans in awe. "I love the fact that people from all over the world can come and experience One Piece and Mercer Labs' collaboration because they're already here with the purpose of expanding creativity with brands they love," Nasir Dean of Mercer Labs told CBS News.
The fun at New York Comic Con isn't confined to the daytime with artist alley and panels stretching their hours into the night, and while the show floor will close at 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, and at 5 p.m. on Sunday, the panel discussions push past the showroom times. CBS News details that panels will continue on Thursday from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday they'll extend from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., and on Sunday they'll run in tandem with the show floor from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
For fans unable to secure tickets or for those looking to prepare, both ABC7NY and CBS News offer online resources, including a full list of panels and exhibitors. There are also FAQs to assist attendees with their planning, ensuring that everyone from first-timers to seasoned con-goers can navigate the event with ease and make the most of the fanfare that New York Comic Con has to offer.
