Labor Commissioner Luke Farley has brought AMES Construction into a partnership aimed at ensuring a solid rebuild of the essential I-40 corridor while keeping worker safety at the forefront. According to a report, an on-site ceremony marked this new coalition, uniting state labor officials and local leaders with the construction company's heads.
The deal between the North Carolina Department of Labor (NCDOL) and AMES Construction seeks to prioritize proactive safety initiatives and training enhancements, while keeping the lines of communication wide open amongst all parties involved. With the state's Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Division weighing in with its workplace safety savvy, Farley believes in the return of workers to their homes without harm, promising, "We’re ensuring that every worker goes home safely each day while rebuilding one of North Carolina’s most critical roadways," Labor Commissioner Luke Farley told labor.nc.gov.
