North Carolina has received a Gold Certification from Results for America, a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing evidence-based policy. As highlighted by the 2025 Invest in What Works State Standard of Excellence, the state is among 13 states recognized for implementing data-driven solutions to social issues, according to the North Carolina Office of State Budget and Management.
The annual review by Results for America assesses how states use data and evidence to guide budgeting, grantmaking, and service delivery decisions. This year, North Carolina was recognized for progress in areas such as early childhood education, mental health, and reducing recidivism rates.
Governor Stein said in a recent press release, "I am honored that Results for America has recognized our state as a national leader." He added, "We will continue innovating so that North Carolinians benefit from a government that works smarter, faster, and better for all."
