Early morning yesterday, a smash-and-grab burglary occurred at a North Seattle smoke shop. The Seattle Police Department Blotter reports that the incident took place around 2:25 a.m. in the 8000 block of Lake City Way Northeast, when a stolen Hyundai was driven into the storefront. Officers arriving on the scene found the vehicle abandoned and the store damaged.
Several masked suspects were seen entering the shop after the crash but had left before police arrived, reportedly taking thousands of dollars in merchandise. No arrests have been made. The stolen vehicle was towed, and evidence from the scene is being processed.
The shop owner was contacted to account for the stolen items and secure the property. The Seattle Police are asking anyone with information to call their tip line at 206-233-5000; anonymous tips are accepted. The investigation is ongoing.
