North Texas is gearing up for a competitive show of camaraderie and athleticism as local police and fire departments trade in their badges for bats at the upcoming Battle of the Badges softball tournament. Scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 18, at Railroad Park, 1301 S. Railroad Street, the event serves as both a friendly rivalry and a fundraiser, with teams swinging not only for glory but also for their preferred charities.
The tournament kicks off bright and early at 8 a.m., and spectators can catch the action all day as teams from Lewisville, Flower Mound, Corinth, and Arlington battle it out on the diamond. While the competition is fierce, the atmosphere aims to be family-friendly; alongside the games, there will be a mix of concessions, a craft and vendor fair, plus activities tailored for children, ensuring a day packed with entertainment for all ages.
Organized by the Lewisville Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association, the Battle of the Badges is an invitation-only event that has become a local tradition for fostering community spirit and highlighting the service-first mindset of the region's first responders. In an effort to provide further details on the event, the organizers have curated information, which can be accessed on the Battle of the Badge page at their website, lcpaaa.com, as per the City of Lewisville.
