
Oʻahu drivers: Starting October 19, the Hālawa and H-3 Freeway off-ramps (Exit 1D and 1E) from the westbound Moanalua Freeway will close at night for repaving. Closures are from 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. on Sundays, and 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Monday through Friday. Drivers should use the H-99 Stadium/ʻAiea Exit to reach the H-3 Freeway, according to the Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation.
The Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation will repave the Hālawa Interchange through November 26, excluding weekends and holidays. Nighttime closures from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. will have police officers on-site and messages on electronic boards. Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation will also repave the westbound Moanalua Freeway from Moanalua Gardens to the Hālawa Interchange, affecting the three left lanes from 9 p.m. to 4:30 a.m., Sunday through Friday.
The final phase of work on the Moanalua Freeway will restripe and pave westbound between the Middle Street off-ramp and the Hālawa Interchange, and eastbound from the H-3 overpass to Red Hill. The Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation said, "All work will be announced as it is scheduled," with completion expected by January 2026.
