A tragic incident unfolded in Marion County in the early hours of Sunday, when a 26-year-old Ocala man was fatally struck by a car while riding his bicycle. The Florida Highway Patrol confirmed that the crash occurred at approximately 12:45 a.m. on County Road 326, roughly one mile west of Interstate 75. As reported by ClickOrlando, the cyclist is said to have traveled across the roadway and into the path of an oncoming westbound Ford Fiesta, resulting in the collision.
According to the same source, the man was pronounced dead at the scene by the responding authorities. The investigation report from the highway patrol noted that the driver of the Ford, a 46-year-old Citrus Springs woman, sustained no injuries in the crash.
