Oklahoma House Speaker Kyle Hilbert and fellow Republican legislators visited Ardmore as part of the Capitol to Community tour, aimed at strengthening connections between state leaders and local communities. The delegation met with city officials, business leaders, and educators to learn about Ardmore’s economic development and community initiatives.
As per the Oklahoma House of Representatives release, City Manager Kevin Boatright and Chamber President & CEO Bill Murphy opened the visit with an overview of local progress, followed by a tour of the Depot District, which highlighted Ardmore’s small business activity. The group also heard from Steve Rhines of the Noble Research Foundation and Jake Foster from Kerr Pumps about innovation and workforce development.
In the afternoon, legislators toured key sites including DOT Foods, Michelin, Murray State College’s Ardmore Campus, and Southern Tech. Discussions later focused on mental health and community services, with input from Lighthouse Behavioral Wellness Centers CEO Jessica Pfau and Mercy Ardmore’s Daryle Voss.
The Capitol to Community tour will continue with upcoming visits to Lawton and Guthrie.
