The study, held before the Senate Local and County Government Committee, focused on developing more consistent and reliable funding sources for municipalities facing unpredictable revenues, according to the Oklahoma State Senate.

Gillespie, a former city councilor and vice mayor, emphasized that local governments need a modern funding framework to ensure essential services remain uninterrupted during economic downturns. Sen.
