A home invasion in Vacaville resulted in one person being shot and one suspect being arrested, as officials continue to look for the second suspect in the case. According to KCRA, the incident occurred yesterday afternoon when two armed suspects entered a residence on the 500 block of Chateau Way.
The local authorities were alerted around 2 p.m. to the home invasion robbery, and upon arriving, found an adult victim with a gunshot wound to an extremity. The victim was subsequently transported to a nearby hospital in a "stable condition." In an endeavor to swiftly apprehend the suspects, Vacaville police collaborated with the Fairfield Police Department and the California Highway Patrol's Air Support Unit, managing to arrest 18-year-old Dandre Wilson of Sacramento, as reported by CBS News.
Wilson faces multiple charges, including first-degree robbery and assault with a firearm, according to jail records cited by CBS News. He is being held at the Solano County Jail and is expected to appear in court on Monday. Meanwhile, the search for the second suspect continues, though police officials have relayed there is no ongoing threat to the public and are treating the incident as isolated.
Investigators are actively following up on leads to track down the second suspect, whose description has yet to be released. "All indications point to this being an isolated incident," Vacaville police shared in a news release obtained by KCRA.
