In the Brentwood neighborhood of Jacksonville, a fatal shooting occurred late Friday on West 23rd Street, leaving one man dead and another critically injured. Action News Jax reported that the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) was called to the scene just after 10 p.m. following reports of gunfire.
The officers arrived to find two individuals with gunshot wounds. Despite rushed attempts to save their lives, one victim later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. The other victim is described as being in critical but stable condition, caught in an unyielding fight to cling to life. Following the incident, two persons were detained and are currently being interviewed at the Police Memorial Building, as detailed in the original press release.
