
A shooting in the Gulfton area of Houston early on Sunday resulted in one death and three injuries on the 6900 block of Ashcroft Drive. Authorities first learned of the incident when two people with gunshot wounds arrived at a hospital and said the shooting happened near Caribe on Rampart Street. Police checked that area but found no evidence of a disturbance, according to Click2Houston.
At 5:59 a.m., Houston police were called to the shooting scene on Ashcroft. One person was found dead and another was critically injured. Police detained at least one person at the scene, and two others were also placed in handcuffs. Their connection to the case is still under investigation.
Fox26Houston reports that the conditions of the two other hospitalized victims are still unknown. Assistant Chief Cantu asked anyone with information to contact the Houston Police Department’s Homicide Division or Crime Stoppers. The identities of the victims and the details leading to the shooting have not been released, and the investigation is ongoing.
