A deadly confrontation at a Northwest Side motel has left one man dead and two individuals detained, KSAT reports. Early Tuesday morning, San Antonio Police responded to a shooting at the Starlite Motel on Fredericksburg Road. They discovered a man in his 40s with two gunshot wounds to the chest.
Ambulance crews performed life-saving measures, but despite their efforts, the man, entangled earlier in a dispute involving the mother of his children and her new boyfriend, according to an SAPD sergeant, was pronounced dead at the hospital. The sergeant confirmed the fatality, and three individuals, including two women and a man, were taken in for further questioning. The man's involvement with the other parties suggests a narrative far removed from a random act of violence, and into the muddied waters of personal relations and affections turned sour.
News 4 San Antonio adds that the incident occurred around 8:15 a.m., leading to the detainment of two people present in the motel room during the shooting. A gun was found at the scene by investigators who are piecing together the events that precipitated the argument and the following gunfire.
