
An Orlando pedestrian has died following a hit-and-run collision last night. As reported by ClickOrlando, the incident took place before 8 p.m. on E. Colonial Drive, near the intersection with State Road 436, also known as N. Semoran Boulevard. Florida Highway Patrol confirmed that the 38-year-old male victim was not using a marked crosswalk when he was struck by a vehicle heading eastbound on Colonial Drive.
Additional details from WESH clarify that the collision occurred as the vehicle, traveling in the center left turn lane on State Road 50, approached Semoran Boulevard and struck the pedestrian who was crossing from north to south. In the aftermath of the collision, the driver in question reportedly left the scene, leaving behind no immediate clues to their identity or the specifics of the vehicle they were operating.
The man was promptly taken to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries, was pronounced dead; the Florida Highway Patrol is currently seeking details on the driver and vehicle involved in the crash.
