In recent developments, the Paradise Police Department has reported the arrest of an adult male for alleged inappropriate communication with a minor. According to a social media post from the department, a concerned citizen alerted the authorities on September 26, revealing that Devin Olah had been engaging in electronic conversations with what he believed was a 14-year-old girl. The account was, in fact, a decoy.
The Paradise Police swiftly acted following the tip, and their investigation found Olah to have sent sexually explicit content to the decoy. They also uncovered intentions to arrange a face-to-face meeting. Yesterday, the Paradise Police Department officers officially took Olah into custody, booking him into the Butte County Jail. His charges include "288.2(a)(1) PC - Sending harmful matter with intent to seduce a minor" and "664/288.3(a) PC - Attempted contact with a minor with intent to commit a sexual offense," with bail set at $125,000.
The department extended its gratitude to the community for helping in the capture of individuals targeting minors online. Authorities urged anyone with further information to come forward and support the ongoing investigation.
