A Phoenix neighborhood was disrupted by an incident of fatal violence last weekend. According to FOX 10 Phoenix, police were called to the scene of a domestic violence report in the Arcadia area, around 46th Street and Devonshire Avenue, at approximately 3:18 a.m. It was there they discovered 50-year-old Erick Chapman in the front yard with a fatal stab wound.
The Phoenix Fire Department, arriving at the scene shortly after the authorities, pronounced Chapman dead. Details surrounding the fatal incident remain sparse, but an unidentified man connected to the stabbing was also found and subsequently detained. Having sustained non-life-threatening injuries, he was sent to a hospital, as reported by AZ Family.
After the man was released from the hospital, he was taken to Phoenix Police Headquarters. There, detectives conducted an interview, following which the man was released, with the investigation still pending. The motives behind the stabbing and the events that led up to it remain unclear, keeping the identity of the detained man undisclosed by the police.
