The Pierce County Sheriff's Office has welcomed a Labrador Retriever named Everest, who serves as both a K9 unit member and a Wellness K9, boosting morale within the department. According to the Pierce County Sheriff's Office, Everest’s duties go beyond typical K9 tasks, engaging with the community while maintaining a professional presence.
When off-duty, Everest enjoys normal dog activities like playing and chasing squirrels, free from his work vest. The office notes that he follows a regular fitness routine, including treadmill exercises and monthly obedience training, to stay prepared for his duties, as reported by the Pierce County Sheriff's Office.
