Authorities are investigating the death of a man found over a hillside in Pittsburgh's Troy Hill neighborhood yesterday afternoon. The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office has identified the deceased as 60-year-old Bill Bauer of East Allegheny, TribLIVE reported.
A report came in around 3 p.m. about an unresponsive male figure over a hillside on the 1900 block of Lowrie Street. Rescue teams, equipped with ropes and harnesses, worked their way down the steep slope to reach Bauer. Upon their arrival, medics declared him dead, according to WPXI.
The exact circumstances of Bauer's death remain under investigation, as the cause and manner of his passing have not been determined. The scene near Voegtly Cemetery, which overlooks Route 28, has turned into a point of inquiry for both the police and the medical examiner's office..
