
In a somber turn of events, the Pittsburgh Police have been called to the scene of a fatal shooting in the South Side Flats area. The incident unfolded late last night at around 10:09 when Zone 3 officers, who were already on duty nearby, discovered a 33-year-old man on the sidewalk of E Carson Street's 1200 block, suffering from a gunshot wound to the neck. Immediate aid was rendered in the crucial moments following the discovery.
The victim was swiftly attended to by emergency services, with Pittsburgh Bureau of EMS units Medic 8 and Rescue 2 arriving at the scene. Despite their efforts, the individual was pronounced dead shortly after transportation to the hospital, at 10:27 p.m., as reported on the City of Pittsburgh's official website. This latest homicide adds to an unsettling count of violent incidents in the city this year.
