Today, the city will continue to experience temperatures well below average, but it remains dry and enjoyable. The forecast indicates that high pressure will start to settle in by Friday, leading into the weekend, which will prompt a warming trend, culminating in temperatures near normal levels by Sunday. However, there may be a modest pick up in northerly winds on Friday as the trough axis migrates eastward, with the strongest gusts likely along the Colorado River Valley.
Looking ahead to early next week's weather, stronger ridging is anticipated, which should see a shortwave from the Pacific Northwest dip into the Northern Rockies on Monday. This may result in a slight cooling and enhanced surface winds on Monday and Tuesday in the region, according to the National Weather Service.
