In an earnest effort to pave avenues of opportunity within public safety careers, Polk County Fire Rescue (PCFR) is commemorating two decades of impact with its Proactive Diversity Recruitment and Training Program (PDRTP). Established back in 2005, this initiative has been a beacon for economically disadvantaged residents of Polk County, enabling them to earnestly pursue careers as first responders without the burden of financial strain.
The program, as chronicled in a recent social media update by PCFR, not only offers free educational opportunities but also ensures that participants are compensated with benefits and an hourly wage as they attend and complete their classes. This initiative clearly aims to remove any probable barriers that might preclude eager talents from serving their community.
