As Halloween approaches, the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office in Oklahoma has shared safety reminders for families preparing to celebrate. In a Pottawatomie County Sheriff's Office's Facebook post, they encouraged residents to stay alert and prioritize safety while enjoying the festivities.
Families are advised to trick-or-treat in well-lit neighborhoods and remain on sidewalks. Children are encouraged to carry glow sticks or flashlights to stay visible to drivers. Once home, parents should inspect all candy before allowing children to eat it, ensuring the treats are safe.
Drivers are reminded to slow down and stay cautious, as children may unexpectedly cross the streets during trick-or-treating hours.
