On early Monday morning, a Pueblo County altercation escalated into an armed confrontation, leading to the arrest of a 45-year-old man identified as Adam Eugene Pacheco. The Pueblo County Sheriff's Office reported responding to a domestic disturbance call at approximately 1:15 a.m. on the 1100 block of Placita Avenue, where Pacheco is said to have assaulted a woman and threatened her with a shotgun.
The woman involved in the confrontation was able to safely exit the home, but not before the situation intensified, with Pacheco reportedly pointing the shotgun at her and menacing her life; deputies later arrived at the scene, and after attempting to coax Pacheco outside to no avail, obtained an arrest warrant. In collaboration with the U.S. Marshals, Pueblo sheriff’s detectives later apprehended Pacheco on Monday afternoon, executing a search warrant at his residence and recovering a shotgun linked to this menacing incident.
Pacheco is facing numerous charges, including felony menacing, false imprisonment, third-degree assault, and domestic violence, and he has since been booked into the Pueblo County Jail. The gravity of the incident underscores ongoing concerns around domestic violence and the potential escalation to deadly force in household disputes.
