Raleigh residents are set to come together in a public recognition and celebration of the valiant men and women who have served in the armed forces, as the city readies for a Veterans Day honorific gathering. Announced by the City of Raleigh, the event promises to be a heartfelt nod to local heroes with attendees having the opportunity to engage with veterans, savor light refreshments, and explore a variety of local resources dedicated to the wellbeing and support of those who have donned the uniform.
Scheduled for November 8, the event is open for all ages and, importantly, there's no charge for admission, allowing everyone from toddlers to seniors to join the festivities at the John Chavis Community Center from 11 a.m. until 2:30 p.m., where the contributions of veterans to the past and present of the local community are expected to be the centerpiece of the day's reflections and activities.
