Raleigh Water is gearing up for a digital facelift with the launch of its new "Raleigh Water Self-Service" portal, setting a course for what they promise will be a more intuitive and secure customer experience. According to an official statement, beginning this November, residents will navigate a fresh interface designed to streamline the process of managing utility accounts, making payments, updating personal information, and submitting service requests with ease.

However, it won't be all smooth sailing immediately; the transition means a temporary blackout period from Nov. 7-11 where no payments can be made while the old portal is taken offline, no in-person or online payments will be accepted, and the customer call center will shut its doors on Nov. 10-11, leaving residents to plan accordingly with their billing due dates, Raleigh announced in a recent update. Notably, autopay customers are roped into the mix as well needing to re-enroll in the new system post-launch to avoid any billing hiccups.

On the brighter side, when the curtains rise on the new system on Nov. 12, the benefits seem to outweigh the initial inconvenience. Users are poised to enjoy the added convenience of grouping multiple accounts, creating nicknames for easy identification, and the ability to track service requests through a new feature dubbed "My Request." Raleigh Water assures that traditional payment methods, such as by mail or in-person at various locations including local Walmarts, will remain intact for those less inclined towards the digital shift.

To help ease into this transition, Raleigh Water is throwing a lifeline to customers in the form of community events planned for November and December these events are meant to offer hands-on assistance and address any queries or concerns community members might have about the new portal's workings.
