Two suspects were arrested by deputies in Rancho Cucamonga on Tuesday, after law enforcement responded to reports of a man with a gun. The incident, which took place in the 11000 block of Serenity Drive, saw the Rancho Cucamonga Sheriff’s Station receiving a call at approximately 12:19 P.M., detailing a report by the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department.

Upon arrival, deputies found a vehicle that matched the caller’s description and made contact with the driver, identified as Cashuelle Delwon Ellington, aged 31. Noticing Terri Iva Lorraine Turner, aged 30, approaching the car to retrieve a juvenile from the back seat, the responding deputies executed a vehicle search. Found was a loaded firearm was found beneath the driver's seat, and a glass pipe in the driver’s side door panel, which appeared to be used for consuming controlled substances, according to authorities.

Ellington, a resident of Culver City, was discovered to have a significant criminal past, including a conviction and an active felony warrant from Orange County. Following the inspection, Ellington was charged with multiple offenses, including carrying a loaded firearm in public, child abuse with possible great bodily injury or death, and possession of unlawful paraphernalia, as reported by the Sheriff’s Station. Meanwhile, Turner, hailing from Pomona, was booked for child abuse with possible great bodily injury or death.

The arrests took place following an investigation that concluded both subjects entered a resident's home and brandished a firearm at the occupants. The successful apprehension of the individuals was, in part, thanks to vigilant community members who reported their observations. The Sheriff’s Station has encouraged anyone with information regarding the crime to reach out directly or to contact the We-Tip Hotline anonymously.
