An overturned semi has led to the closure of I580 southbound at Mt. Rose Highway in Reno, as reported by the Nevada State Police. The incident, which occurred last night around 8 PM, is causing significant traffic disruptions.
The official social media post by the Nevada State Police issued a traffic alert, notifying residents and travelers alike of the situation. The post detailed, "I580 southbound closed at Mt. Rose Highway (SR431) due to an overturned semi. Closure is expected for the next two to three hours."
The Nevada State Police post also warned that “this closure could extend overnight due to the extremely high winds not allowing for recovery or the safe movement of the semi out of the travel lanes.”
