In a significant crackdown on drug and firearm offenses in Rockville, Montgomery County Police have apprehended 33-year-old Elijah Bell, who now faces a series of charges. Revealed by the Montgomery County Department of Police, Bell was taken into custody and charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute, possession of a controlled dangerous substance not cannabis, along with numerous firearms charges.
Last Wednesday, following a lengthy investigation, officers executed multiple search warrants on Bell's premises. The Montgomery County Police Department, in a press release, reported the seizure of substantial amounts of illegal drugs including approximately 2,726 grams of cocaine and about ten pounds of cannabis. During the raid, due to a prior criminal record, it was uncovered that Bell was not lawfully permitted to bear arms.
The operation was a collaborative effort by the 4th District Community Action Team and detectives from the Special Investigations Division, indicating the intensity of law enforcement's commitment to curtail drug distribution in the area. Adding to Bell’s legal woes, the investigation brought to light that the two handguns recovered were both previously reported as stolen.
The repercussions for Bell continue as he has been conveyed to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit and is currently held without bond. Alongside the narcotics, officers also confiscated roughly $10,000 in U.S. currency, conceivably tied to Bell's alleged drug trafficking operations. Further legal proceedings await Bell.
