The Roseville Police Department answered the call of discrepancy early in the day when a concerning scene unfolded on the 5000 block of Moonraker Lane. A social media post by the department detailed the event: "Today around 1030 am, the Roseville Police Department responded to a suspicious circumstance call in the 5000 block of Moonraker Ln." The initial discovery was made by an unidentified 911 caller reporting the out-of-place positioning of their tricycle and the finding of an unconscious man nearby.
On arrival, officers found a 56-year-old male, who was pronounced deceased at the scene next to the aforementioned tricycle. Given the absence of witnesses at the time of the man's death, the incident was declared an unattended death.
The case progressed into an active investigation stage, conducted in tandem with the Placer County Coroner’s Office, aiming to unwrap the circumstances leading to the man's untimely demise. "Due to the fact the male’s death was not witnessed by anyone (what we call in our profession an unattended death), Detectives were called out to investigate the incident," detailed the Roseville Police in their statement. The nature of these examinations is procedural in situations where the cause of death is not immediate apparent.
While the area around Moonraker Lane was temporarily cordoned off, it has since been cleared, the Roseville Police updated. However, the investigation remains in full swing as authorities piece together the final moments of the man's life.
